Paul B. Jaskot (Chair), Ph.D.
Paul is Professor of Art History and Director of Studio CHI (Computing/ Humanities Interface) at DePaul University. His work focuses on the relationship of art, architecture, and urbanism to politics in the modern period. He was the Andrew W. Mellon Professor at the Center for Advanced Study of the Visual Arts at the National Gallery of Art (2014-2016). From 2008-2010, he was President of the College Art Association.
Ramont Bell, M.Sc.
Ramont is Outreach Coordinator at Faith in Place, a Chicago-based nonprofit that empowers Illinois people of all faiths to be leaders in caring for the Earth. He has a Masters Degree in IS & Telecommunications and completed the Indiana Watershed Leadership Academy, class of 2017. He was previously the Area Manager of Engineering and Planning for Illinois and Wisconsin AT&T.
Lori has 25 years experience promoting growth of the natural and organic products industry for professional and volunteer organizations. A Chicago native, her contributions to social, environmental and political activism are driven by a commitment to compassion and equality.
Joyce Coffee, LEED AP
Joyce is President of Climate Resilience Consulting, working with leaders to create strategies that protect and enhance markets and livelihoods through adaptation to climate change. Previously, she was managing director of the ND Global Adaptation Initiative, led the City of Chicago's Climate Action Plan and worked in water-related international development.
Lindsey is a believer in the power of collective action, has spent 25 years pioneering participation, engagement and conflict resolution for sustainable development at local, national and international levels. More recently, she started using these participatory approaches as an artist. She lives and works in Snowdonia, North Wales, UK.
Dr. Michael Festing, Ph.D., D.Sc. CStat.
Michael is an expert in experimental design and statistics. He is the author of three books and over 200 scientific papers on laboratory animal genetics and related topics. Dr Festing obtained his B.Sc., M.Sc. and D.Sc in agriculture from London University, and Ph.D. in quantitative genetics from Iowa State University.
Dr. Alan Knight, Ph.D., OBE
Alan has over 25 years’ experience working with global and national companies and governments on sustainability. He joined the world’s largest steel company, ArcelorMittal in April 2014 as their General Manager for Corporate Responsibility. He has worked with companies as diverse as Virgin Group, B&Q, Kingfisher and SABMiller. Alan was awarded the OBE in June 1998.
Eric Tate, Ph.D.
Eric is Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa, Department of Geographical and Sustainability Sciences. He teaches and conducts research in the areas of flood hazards, water resources, environmental justice, and social vulnerability, primarily using geospatial indicators to examine environment-society interactions. Dr. Tate earned his PhD in Geography from the University of South Carolina.
Rick is the founder and design director of Thirst, a communication design practice for clients in the architectural, performing arts, and education communities. In 2006, he received the AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts) Medal, the highest honor of the graphic design profession. The White House honored Valicenti in 2011 with the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Award for Communication Design.
Harriet Festing (Co-founder), M.Phil.
Executive Director of Anthropocene Alliance, Harriet has 25 years' experience managing award winning programs that tackle climate change. Harriet's experience stretches across diverse fields - water, energy, agriculture, housing - within government, non-profits and academic sectors in the US and UK.
Stephen F. Eisenman (Co-founder), Ph.D.
Director of Art and Communications for Anthropocene Alliance. Dr. Eisenman is Professor of Art History at Northwestern University, a widely published writer and critic, a curator and an activist who has campaigned against U.S. sanctioned torture, long-term solitary confinement and animal abuse.
Burrell Poe (Community Outreach Coordinator)
Burrell Poe supports our community outreach as a consultant, particularly as it relates to flooding in cities. He is a U.S. Army Veteran from the West side of Chicago. Burrell has been involved with the community since working at a candy store with his family at age 10.
Susie Skarford (Secretary to the board)
Susie is currently a blogger at Pins and Procrastination. She is passionate about advocating for environmental causes. Susie received her Master's in Environmental Law and Policy from Vermont Law School.
Dr. Simon Festing (Treasurer to the Board), M.Sc, M.D.
Simon has over ten years experience as a chief executive of various nonprofits in the UK. He has a Master's Degree in Environmental Technology for Imperial College, London, and an M.D. from London Hospital Medical College.
KAYLEIGH RICHTER (intern)
Previously specialising in Law at University, Kayleigh's was elected Ethical & Environmental Officer of her Student Union. Since then, she has been a keen advocate for the environment and has taken a keen interest in to the world of sustainable development. She is currently studying an M.Sc in Environmental Management.
